Business Name Numerology Calculator
Type the trading name as customers see it, in English letters. The letters are added and reduced to one number, read for the kind of business it suits. Add the owner's date of birth to see the match.

What this calculator does
A business name is read exactly like a personal name: each letter has a value, the values are added, and the total is reduced to one number. What changes is the reading. Instead of temperament, the nine numbers describe the kind of venture a name is said to suit, and with the owner's date of birth the calculator shows whether the name is friendly, neutral or opposing to the owner's Moolank and Bhagyank.
How is the business name calculated?
- Write the trading name in English letters.
- Give each letter its value (Chaldean by default; Pythagorean as an option).
- Add every value. This is the compound number.
- Reduce the compound to a single digit.
Spaces, dots, hyphens and apostrophes are ignored. Digits and Devanagari letters are not accepted, so a name such as "24 Carat" has to be typed as the words customers say. The method is the same one the name number lesson explains for people.
Worked example
Sharma Sweets in Chaldean:
SHARMA = 3 + 5 + 1 + 2 + 4 + 1 = 16, SWEETS = 3 + 6 + 5 + 5 + 4 + 3 = 26, together 42, and 4 + 2 = 6. A 6 name, ruled by Venus: hospitality, food and comfort, which fits a sweet shop. The compound 42 is read like 24, gains through relationships.
A second example, with an owner
Gupta Electricals in Chaldean:
- GUPTA = 3 + 6 + 8 + 4 + 1 = 22
- ELECTRICALS = 5 + 3 + 5 + 3 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 3 + 1 + 3 + 3 = 33
- 22 + 33 = 55 → 10 → 1
A 1 name, "the pioneer brand", ruled by the Sun. Compound readings run from 10 to 52, so 55 is read by its digit sum as compound 10, the wheel. For an owner born on 26 March 1985 (Moolank 8, Bhagyank 2+6+0+3+1+9+8+5 = 34 → 7), the 8 row lists 1 as opposing and the 7 row lists 1 as friendly. A mixed match like this is common and simply means the name suits one side of the owner's numbers more than the other. See number 1 and number 8 for why the Sun and Saturn are read as pulling in different directions.

How to read your result
- The headline. The business name number and its business title, such as "The pioneer brand".
- The reading. One or two sentences on the kind of venture the number suits and its watch-point.
- The letter tiles. Each word with every letter's value, so a typing slip is easy to spot.
- The facts. The compound number, the letter system, and the number's ruling planet, keywords, lucky colours, lucky days and friendly numbers.
- Compound reading. The Chaldean meaning of the total, with a note when a total above 52 was reduced to fit.
- Owner match. With a date of birth, two rows: the owner's Moolank and Bhagyank, each with a Friendly, Neutral or Opposing badge. These are read from the owner's row of the table only.
- How it was calculated. Every letter value joined by plus signs, then the total and each step.
Read the business reading first, then the owner match. A friendly match is read as the name pulling in the same direction as the owner; an opposing one as a name the owner will have to work against. Neither decides anything. Names are chosen for memorability, meaning and availability as well, and this calculator describes, it does not choose.
Where do schools disagree?
Most Indian practitioners use Chaldean values for names, and that is this site's default (set in the site's settings file); the Chaldean vs Pythagorean lesson explains why. Some numerologists read only the first word of a brand, others the full registered name. The compound readings come from the Chaldean tradition, so a compound shown for a Pythagorean total should be read lightly.
Common mistakes
- Mixing systems. Gupta Electricals is 55 in Chaldean but 64 in Pythagorean; both reduce to 1 here, but most names do not.
- Typing the legal name when customers use a short one. Read the name people actually say.
- Treating an opposing owner match as a reason to rename. It describes a difference in style, nothing more.
