Guide

What this calculator does

A registration number is the number you see on your own vehicle every day, so Indian numerology reads it the way it reads a mobile number: add the digits, reduce to one number, and compare with the owner's Moolank and Bhagyank. The nine readings describe the vehicle's character in the tradition, nothing more. The mobile number lesson covers the same idea for phones.

How is the vehicle number calculated?

  1. Take the registration as printed, for example MH 12 AB 1234.
  2. Add the digits: 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 13.
  3. Reduce: 1 + 3 = 4.

Spaces and hyphens are ignored, and up to 20 letters and digits are accepted. Letters are shown with a dash to make clear they were not counted. A total of 11 or 22 is reduced to 2 or 4; master numbers are not kept for vehicles.

Worked example

MH 12 AB 1234 adds to 13 and reduces to 4, ruled by Rahu: the workhorse, reliable and steady. For an owner born on 14 August 1990 (Moolank 5, Bhagyank 5), the 5 row of the relations table does not list 4 as friendly or opposing, so both match rows show Neutral.

A second example

DL 3C AB 7789, owner born 3 December 1987:

  • Digits: 3 + 7 + 7 + 8 + 9 = 34, and 3 + 4 = 7
  • Owner: Moolank 3, Bhagyank 0+3+1+2+1+9+8+7 = 31 → 4
  • Moolank 3 with 7: neutral. Bhagyank 4 with 7: friendly.

A 7 plate, ruled by Ketu: "the quiet car", read as a vehicle for solo drives, with the balance of staying alert. The same plate read by other methods gives other numbers, which is worth knowing before comparing with another source:

MethodTotalNumber
All digits (this site)347
Last four digits only314
Digits plus Chaldean letters472

With letters counted, D = 4, L = 3, C = 3, A = 1 and B = 2 add 13, so 34 + 13 = 47 → 11 → 2.

How to read your result

  • The number and headline. "Your vehicle number reduces to" with the digit and its vehicle title, such as "The quiet car".
  • The reading. One or two sentences on the vehicle's character and the balance to keep.
  • The character tiles. Every letter and digit of the plate. Digits show their value; letters show a dash and a note that they were not counted.
  • The facts. The number's ruling planet, keywords, lucky colours, lucky days and friendly numbers.
  • The match rows. With a date of birth, your Moolank and Bhagyank, each with a Friendly, Neutral or Opposing badge, read from your row of the table.
  • How it was calculated. The counted values joined by plus signs, then the total and each step, for example 3+7+7+8+9 = 34 → 7.

The single digit is the headline and the vehicle reading gives it context. A friendly match with your birth numbers is read as a vehicle that suits you; an opposing one as a difference in style. The planet behind each number is covered on its number page, such as number 7. The calculator does not rate numbers as lucky or unlucky, does not suggest buying a fancy number, and says nothing about accidents.

Common mistakes

  • Reading the match from the wrong side. 4 lists 5 as friendly, but the tool reads from the owner's number, and 5 is neutral to 4.
  • Adding the letters by habit. They are off by default, so a hand total that includes them will not match the card.
  • Comparing with a last-four reading. A different method gives a different number; neither is wrong, they answer different questions.
  • Treating an opposing match as a warning. It describes style, not safety.
